The Alienware AW3425DWM 34-inch monitor has completely changed my opinion about ultrawide displays. While it’s not the first 2K 34-inch monitor on the market, nor the cheapest, it strikes an exceptional balance between sleek design and impressive specs at a fair price.
Although it lacks features like RGB lighting and a USB-C port—offering only two USB-A ports—it delivers performance that rivals many higher-end options, including some OLED panels. When compared to Alienware’s premium AW3423DWF, the AW3425DWM feels like the smarter buy for those who want solid quality and value.
It outperforms several competitors from LG and Samsung in brightness and color range. These strengths, combined with its added ports, justify its price in the crowded ultrawide space.
This monitor isn’t just about gaming—though it certainly shines there too. Titles like Assassin’s Creed Shadows and Forza Motorsport look incredible with its wide aspect ratio. Even games that don’t support ultrawide natively, like R.E.P.O., look great and feel immersive.
From a productivity standpoint, it’s also a game-changer. Being able to run YouTube in one window while browsing or gaming in another offered a better experience than using dual monitors.
That said, not all apps and games support the 21:9 aspect ratio, which can result in black bars or force content into a 16:9 format. And while viewing quality is fantastic head-on, it does diminish slightly from side angles.
In short, the AW3425DWM didn’t just meet my expectations—it exceeded them. I’ve gone from being skeptical to being a true ultrawide believer.
